Magnetic Pulley

A magnetic head pulley that delivers automatic, continuous tramp-iron removal at the discharge of a conveyor belt — separating ferrous contamination from your product as it tips over the pulley. Available in Rare Earth and Ferrite circuits.

Automatic separation Rare Earth or Ferrite Built to your belt

Overview

Tramp-iron removal built into your conveyor

Saideep manufactures a wide range of Rare Earth and Ferrite magnetic pulleys, widely used to remove tramp iron mixed with the material moving on a conveyor belt. The magnet pulley is always installed at the discharge point of the conveyor, so as product tips over the pulley the non-magnetic material falls away on its natural trajectory while ferrous pieces are held to the belt and released past the discharge — separating tramp iron from the product, automatically and continuously.

Features & benefits

A head pulley that does two jobs at once

Automatic separation

Replaces the conveyor head pulley so tramp iron is drawn off continuously — no operator intervention.

Rare Earth or Ferrite

Choose a Rare Earth or Ferrite magnetic circuit to match the strength your product and contamination need.

Protects equipment

Captures tramp iron before it reaches crushers, mills and screens downstream — avoiding damage.

Sized to your belt

Pulley width is set by the conveyor belt width for a direct, bolt-in replacement.

Diameter to suit duty

Diameter is chosen for the depth of material and the speed of the conveyor.

Designed to application

Each pulley is engineered to suit the customer’s application and installation.

How it works & how to size it

Working principle and selection guide

The magnetic pulley replaces the conveyor head pulley: clean material discharges normally while tramp iron is held to the belt and dropped behind a splitter. Share your belt width and speed and we size the pulley for you.

FAQs

Magnetic Pulley — common questions

Where is the magnetic pulley installed?
At the discharge point of the conveyor. It takes the place of the head pulley so tramp iron is separated from the product as it tips over the pulley — automatically and continuously.
Rare Earth or Ferrite — which do I need?
Saideep makes both. Rare Earth circuits give a stronger field for finer or more stubborn ferrous; Ferrite circuits suit larger tramp iron and lighter duties. We’ll advise based on your material and contamination.
How do you size the pulley?
Pulley width is determined by the width of the conveyor belt, and the diameter is chosen for the depth of material and the speed of the conveyor. Each pulley can be designed to suit your application.
What does it protect?
By drawing tramp iron off the belt at discharge, it keeps ferrous contamination out of crushers, mills, screens and other downstream machinery — preventing damage and downtime.
